Bendersville Participates in Annual Wreath Project

Wreath Project 2018

Thirty nine 6th grade Bendersville Elementary students had the opportunity to travel to the Soldiers National Cemetery in Gettysburg on November 30, 2018.  The students helped to lay 1,620 wreaths as part of the Annual Wreath Project.  The Sgt Mac Foundation is in charge of this event, the motto being "Remembering One, Honoring All". A special thank you to the Canner Grant fund and Biglerville American Legion Post 262 who provided the funding for transportation in order for this activity to take place for the students.
While in Gettysburg the students also had the chance to visit the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center to see the movie "A New Birth of Freedom" and view the Cyclorama.  We also enjoyed our brown bagged lunches in the oldest standing house in Gettysburg the Dobbin House. Please enjoy some photos below of our day!
