• All employees, and all contracted individuals of Upper Adams School District must obtain a Pennsylvania State Police Criminal record Check, a Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, and an FBI Federal Criminal History Clearance (fingerprint background check) prior to working in the district that is within one (1) year of employment. As of January 1, 2015, all employees in school districts must obtain new clearances every five (5) years.

In addition to clearance requirements, Act 24 of 2011 of the Pennsylvania School Code requires that all school employees complete and return to their school administrator an  Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification Form (PDE Form 6004) within 72 hours of any arrest or conviction of an offense listed in Section 111(e) (see form). If an employee refuses to submit the form, Act 24 requires that the School Administrator submit the employee to a new background check under Section 111.
