Mr. Ryan Gerber

Greetings, Canners!  I am Ryan Gerber, and it is with great enthusiasm and dedication that I serve as the Director of Student Services for the Upper Adams School District.  I have been in education for over 20 years. Seventeen of those years were spent as a school counselor with the Intermediate Unit, where I worked exclusively in special education supporting students in Emotional Support, Learning Support, Life Skills, and Dual Diagnosis programs. That experience shaped my belief in the power of advocacy, especially as a father to a 16-year-old daughter with Down syndrome. We're currently navigating the highs and hurdles of high school together, and she continues to inspire everything I do.

Previously serving as the Assistant Principal at Upper Adams Intermediate School, I have truly fallen in love with this community. It is a place rooted in tradition, family, and genuine care for one another.

I am married to my incredible wife, Linette, who is of Hispanic descent, though I still have not mastered Spanish, despite my best intentions. We have four amazing children, and our oldest recently became engaged, which has brought so much joy to our family.  Our family dynamic is further enriched by the presence of our beloved dog, Kara.  She is a true member of our family. 

I am excited and honored to serve as the Director of Student Services for the Upper Adams School District!  I am confident that our Canners will achieve remarkable success.
