Civics Education Curriculum Brochure
Civics Education Instruction
Civics is the teaching and presentation of the principles and ideals of the American republican representative form of government as portrayed and experienced by the acts and policies of the framers of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution of the United States and Bill of Rights.
Upper Adams School District believes that Civics Education empowers our students to be well-informed, active citizens and gives them the opportunity to change the world around them. It is a vital part of any democracy, and equips ordinary people with knowledge about our democracy and our Constitution. Students also learn that Civic Education teaches us what we, as individuals, can do to protect and support our democracy. Students come to understand their role and responsibility as active citizens.
