Weekly Wellness Checks With Real-Time Visual & Auditory Contact Are Now In Effect Under Pennsylvania Act 55 of 2024, Section 26, For Our Canner Cyber Connection Students.

Student Options To Complete The Weekly Wellness Check:

 

ATTEND CANNER CYBER CONNECTION OFFICE HOURS

Office hours are held through Google Meet. Students can access the links through their Google Calendar or an email.

• Grades 7-9: Wednesday, 8:30 AM–9:30 AM

• Grades 10-12: Wednesday, 9:30 AM-10:30 AM

 

SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MR. SHAFER

If your student cannot attend office hours, they can arrange another time to complete the check.

 

HALF-DAY CPACTC STUDENTS
Attendance at CPACTC fulfills the weekly wellness check requirement.

 

STOP INTO SCHOOL
Students may complete their wellness check in person at school.

 

ON -CAMPUS EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
If your student is on campus during the week for an extracurricular activity such as sports, band, or a club, we can complete the wellness check at that time. This will be a quick, real-time visual and auditory check-in with a staff member.

 

For Online Check-Ins

Students must have their camera turned on during an online wellness check. Students will also need to respond to questions so that we can verify both visual and auditory contact.

 

If We Cannot Make Contact

If we are unable to complete a wellness check, we will make multiple attempts to contact the student and family and will document each attempt. We will also offer alternate times, in-person options, and opportunities to complete the check while the student is on campus for an extracurricular activity.

If we are unable to complete the required wellness check, there could be a call to ChildLine. Please understand that this is connected to the requirement to verify student safety during each instructional week.
