Welcome to the UASD School Board!

The Upper Adams School District is governed by nine board members. These board members are elected officials and receive no compensation for their service to the students and community. School board members in Pennsylvania are elected for four-year terms, with the election process calling for five members being eligible for re-election during one election cycle and four being eligible in the next cycle. This 5-4 rotation eliminates having nine new members on a school board and helps ensure consistency and continuity. In Upper Adams, school board members are elected "at large," meaning they can live anywhere in the school district.

The UASD Board of Directors operates in a committee format. The Business & Operations Committee focuses on issues dealing with personnel, finance, property and transportation. The Curriculum & Extra-Curricular Committee focuses on issues dealing with curriculum, instruction, assessment, student activities, and all extra- and co-curricular programs. These two committees meet, generally, on the first Tuesday of each month, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Policy Committee focuses on maintaining all policies of the District, keeping them as up-to-date and relevant as possible. This committee meets on the first Thursday of each month at 9:00 a.m. Regular (voting) board meetings are held, generally, on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

For questions regarding board meeting procedures or to request to address the board during public comments, please send an email to Questions4Board@upperadams.org.  If you are requesting to address the Board of Directors during public comments, you must make your request one (1) business day prior to the scheduled board meeting.  Your request should include your name, address and topic for your comments.
