Mrs. Nicole King
Hi! My name is Nicole King. This is my 19th year teaching 5th grade, and I am looking forward to another great year! I really enjoy teaching children at this level of development. As you know, children at this age are so inquisitive and unique in their thinking. It is so wonderful to see them work together to solve problems, and navigate the challenging terrain of young adolescence. These are just a few reasons why I have dug into the 5th grade classroom, and stayed here! I have my B.S. in Psychology, and a Masters in Education.
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area.
What brought me to Adams County? School! While attending Gettysburg College, I was wooed by the beautiful area and a particular person...my husband, Michael. I graduated and stayed. We moved to our house in Biglerville in 1997, and continue to adore the many blessings of the Upper Adams community.
Michael is a fruit and vegetable grower in Orrtanna, PA. We have two very enthusiastic-for-life children. Our daughter, Charlotte, is an 9th grader at the Biglerville High School, and our son, Aubrey, is a 5th grader at Bendersville Elementary. They keep us very, very busy. We have one crazy little dog, Demeter (Goddess of the Harvest), and three cats: Harry Potter, Beatrix Potter, and Scratchy (his meow is scratchy, not his claws).
Some of my hobbies include cooking, baking, gardening, reading (especially cookbooks), and writing (about cooking). Can you tell I LOVE FOOD???
Again, I welcome you to 5th grade! It is going to be a great year of learning while enjoying this time of your life!
