o Computer Setup – System Preferences and Settings, computer ports, file & folder management, keyboard shortcuts.
o Google Classroom - file retrieval and submission, Google Drive, Google Docs, Gmail, Google calendar, Google+ Community, Google Drawing, Google Sites, Google Sheets, Google Slides.
o iLife suite – (iTunes, Photos, iMovie, GarageBand) audio, video, photos, podcasts.
o iWork – (Pages, Numbers) flyers and word processing, charts and computations.
o Copyright, Fair Use, Creative Commons – how to properly cite and find reference materials.
o Social Networking – pros and cons, how to protect yourself online.
o Web 2.0 tools– VideoNotes, LucidChart, PowToons, Tagxedo, YouTube Annotator & Editor, and more!
This course is a required course for graduation. Students will earn 1/2 credit upon completion of this course.
Students will be asked to work on a variety of different projects during the semester exposing them to a number of different software programs teachers in grades 9-12 will expect students to know. The requirements for successful completion of the course are as follows:
1. Completion of all assigned classwork/activities by the due date.
2. Daily, active participation in class.
3. Satisfactory completion of all graded assignments, quizzes, and exams.
