Mrs. Wolfe

Hello and Welcome! My name is Ann Wolfe and this is my thirteenth year as Principal at Bendersville Elementary School. In addition to my principalship, I am a graduate of Shippensburg University with a BSED in Elementary Education and a reading minor. Also, through the years, I continued my education receiving the following degrees and certifications: Master of Reading, Reading Specialist, Reading Supervisor, Elementary/Secondary Principal’s Certification, and Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility.

These certifications afforded me the wonderful opportunity to work as a sixth grade language arts teacher, an eighth grade reading teacher, a middle school literacy coach, a kindergarten through fifth grade reading specialist, a kindergarten through fifth grade elementary principal, and a fourth through sixth grade  principal.

The following poem sums up my hopes and dreams as an elementary principal.

I have a dream. . .

I have a dream. . .

. . . that every aspect of a child will be known and understood; that these aspects can be built upon, can be adapted if needed, can be seen as positive challenges, and can be seen as an important part of helping to create an individual that will be a productive member of society.

I have a dream. . .

. . .that teaching a child will be a cooperative effort between student, teacher, and parent where the student feels a sense of responsibility for their learning and their growth; where they know that their effort is needed in order to succeed; where the teacher strives to provide an environment that stimulates, intrigues, and challenges the student.

 I have a dream. . .

. . . that the student as an adult will one day look back at their teachers and parents and realize that the person they have become stems from the guidance and leadership provided to them and that every confident step they take is a tribute to being understood  as a child.

On the personal side, I have three children; seven grandchildren and on Fawn Great Dane.  Some of my outside of school activities include the following:  skiing, gardening, running, and playing my twelve-string guitar.

Finally, Bendersville Elementary School is committed to providing a safe, orderly, challenging, and nurturing learning environment.  I look forward to meeting you and working together to make this school year a very successful one for your child.
